Aurora city council ward 4
Jan. 18 - 3 presentations; Aurora Resiliency Center, a walk in mental health facility, a presentation on the Aurora Civil Service Commission which hires and fires our Police and Fire and Todd Towles with InnovaUEV (Urban Electric Vehicle).
March 15 - Lisa Weil will present on the work of the Colorado Education Network. Additionally, Great Education Colorado has joined with over 20 education leadership organizations in the state to endorse Initiative 93 to bring additional dollars into our public schools. The second presentation will be made by the City’s Art in Public Places Commission outlining their great work and the receipt of National awards.
April 19 - A presentation by Mr. Matt Cain the Aurora Civil Service Commission Executive Director. Mr. Cain will explain the duties and responsibilities of the Commission. We will also have a presentation by Ms. Isabelle McDevitt the Executive Director of Bridge House. This non profit organization will soon be operating a residential job training center at the intersection of S. Parker and S. Peoria.
May 17 - We will have a presentation by the Veterans Administration on the new hospital which will host a grand opening on July 21st. If you know a Veteran please inform them of this meeting. An opportunity to ask questions will be afforded. This should be a very informative meeting.
June 14 - Ward meeting presentation will be delivered by Mr. Greg Hayes with the City’s Finance Department the subject will be the 2019 City budget picture.
July 19 - It is my pleasure to inform everyone that our speaker will be Mr. Craig Maraschky the CEO of the Aurora Housing Authority. As a former Commissioner at the AHA I had the distinct pleasure of working with Craig. He has a very challenging burden to provide sufficient housing in our community for those low income and disabled individuals who cannot afford the high rents and mortgage payments we are currently experiencing. He is THE expert on affordable housing. As usual we will begin at 6:30 at Ecotech. Hope to see you for this very educational session.
Aug. 16 - Council Member Marsha Berzins will host the meeting. We will have a presentation by Code Enforcement and the APD Traffic Division.
Sept. 20 - I will to talk about the City ballot questions for this November.
Oct. 18 - My topics are the Traffic Engineer giving a report on why speed limits on certain streets in Aurora are being raised and to answer any other traffic related questions. We will also have a representative of the City’s finance department telling us about the budget actions taken by Council for 2019.
Nov. 15 - Review of the election outcome and a presentation on what the APD PAR program does.

Term Expires: Nov 2019
Simply put, my sole objective is to make Ward 4 the best in the Aurora, both in terms of quality of life and a wide range of job opportunities.
